Rev-Exp-08.xls - This excel spreadsheet contains :
A) the amounts of road user revenue generated by motor traffic in each region (1925-1973 from Yearbook, 1990-95 from National Traffic Database, other years extrapolated from census of population) [NOTE: The Transit New Zealand Act 1989 specifies that traffic policing and the LTSA are fully funded (approx $360 million) from the Land Transport Fund with the remaining roading revenue appropriated to Transfund by the sole authority of the Transit New Zealand Act. Only the latter funds are included in this spreadsheet.]
B) the amounts paid from the National Road Fund to each region (fy1924/25-2005/06 from National Road Fund annual accounts, fy2006/07 & fy2007/2008from National Land Transport Program 2004/05) for:
1. major road improvements (typically 85% allocated to fully fund State Highways, 15% allocated to subsidise local main roads )
2. road maintenance and operations (since 1959 typically 50% allocated to fully fund State Highways, 50% allocated to subsidise local roads)
3. public transport and alternatives to roads
Pavements&Bridges.xls - This excel spreadsheet contains :
A) Population, land area, rateable land value, rates revenue and lengths of gravel, dirt and paper roads in each region in 1924.
B) Length of Main & State Highways sealed and bridges constructed and length resealed and rehabilitated each year from 1925 to 2006
C) Length of local authority roads sealed and bridges constructed and length resealed and rehabilitated each year from 1952 to 2006

Yearbook.XLS - This excel spreadsheet contains roading statistics for the years 1928-2000 from the New Zealand Yearbook :
Roading revenue from Motor vehicle registration/licence fees, commercial vehicle licence fees, petrol tax, mileage tax, road user charges, tire tax and road rates in actual pounds and dollars and in 1994 dollars.
Gross domestic product, consumers price index, miles of sealed and unsealed roads, population, number of road deaths, speeding tickets, registered vehicles, vehicle kilometres travelled.

EuroRegions.XLS - This excel spreadsheet contains European Union Regional Database 1991-93 extract of land area, population, GDP and road deaths and provides scatter graphs of correlation between regional per capita road deaths, wealth and population density.
